INSTALLATION GUIDE

Preparation Before Installation

    Before installing the steel grating, please place it in the corresponding position according to the layout plan or the steel grating number requirements. Separate packaging by location to save time for on-site personnel.

    In order to save on-site installation time, each steel grating will be marked with a number and correspond to the steel grating layout plan. After unpacking, please place the steel grating in the corresponding position according to the requirements of the layout plan or steel grating number.

  • 03

    Installation gap: For your convenience in installation, we reserve a gap of 5-10mm during the production of our grille panels to offset structural errors and facilitate on-site installation and adjustment.

Welding Installation

Welding installation refers to the use of welding to fix steel grating, which is suitable for steel grating that requires permanent fixation. In order to achieve permanent fixation, the steel grating is welded under the supporting steel bars to form a permanent connection. It has the characteristics of easy installation, firm structure, and reasonable price.

  • Before welding, it is necessary to clear the paint, oil stains, and other contaminants on the surface of the support beam and steel grating.

  • Adopt sequential welding, generally using fillet welds at the four corners of the steel grating. If the steel grating is subjected to heavy loads, additional welding points should be added to enhance the welding firmness.

  • After welding is completed, we recommend manually spraying zinc rich anti rust paint on the weld seam to protect the surface of the welding point from rusting.

Fastener Fixation

Fastener fixation refers to the method of fixing steel grids with fasteners. It is specifically designed for situations where steel grilles need to be frequently disassembled after installation. It facilitates the installation, testing, and maintenance of equipment.

Fastener type

From the perspective of safety and economic applicability, we recommend that each square meter of steel grating be equipped with 4 installation clips, which are fixed at the four corner positions of the steel grating. Steel grating without support and with a large span requires an increase in the number of installation clamps. The commonly used steel grating fixing clips include: M-shaped buckle, G-shaped buckle, J-shaped buckle. We can provide you with suitable installation clips according to different models of steel grating and steel beam specifications

Installation Steps

  • Install the upper clamp (M saddle shaped)

    Place the upper clamp on the surface of the steel grating, align the saddle, and connect the two adjacent load-bearing rods of the steel grating.

  • Install the lower clamp

    Place the lower clamp on the lower surface of the steel grating, tightly adhere to the load-bearing rod and steel beam of the steel grating, and tightly fasten the saddle to the corresponding load-bearing reinforcement. Pay attention to aligning the lower clamp hole with the upper clamp hole.

  • Install bolts and nuts

    After the upper and lower clips are installed correctly, insert the bolts into the bolt holes and tighten the nuts from bottom to top.

MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP

Steel grating has excellent performance and is widely used in steel structure platforms, trench covers, stair treads, street fences, building decorations, etc. This requires us to pay attention to the daily maintenance and upkeep of steel grilles in order to extend their service life and enhance their value. We can maintain the steel grating in various ways, including but not limited to:

The installation of steel grating should use fasteners that will not damage the anti-corrosion coating on the surface of the steel grating. The fasteners should be checked regularly to see if there are signs of looseness in the screws. If there are signs of looseness, the screws should be tightened immediately.

The installation of steel grating adopts welding method, which is easy to install and has low cost. After welding is completed, anti rust paint of the same color should be sprayed on the weld seam to prevent corrosion of the weld seam. Regular inspections should be conducted on the welds. If rust proof paint is found to have peeled off, the original rust proof paint should be polished off and a new layer should be applied.

Timely clean up the garbage scattered on the surface of the steel grating, especially pollutants with corrosive properties, and try to ventilate the surface of the steel grating as much as possible.

In places where it is frequently used, due to frequent friction, the anti rust paint is prone to peeling off. It should be checked and painted in a timely manner to extend the service life of the steel grating.

If there are hidden dangers such as virtual welding or missing welding at the welding point of the steel grating, repair welding should be carried out immediately, and anti rust paint should be sprayed after the repair welding is completed.

If damage is found to the steel grating, such as deformation caused by severe impact, it should be replaced in a timely manner to avoid danger.
