Project Overview
This project involves the design and supply of custom steel grating platforms for storage tanks and tower equipment maintenance. The primary challenge was to create platforms that would encircle cylindrical tanks and equipment, with steel grating shaped in sector segments to perfectly fit the circular structure. Additionally, the stair treads had to gradually rise around the tanks, requiring a thoughtful arc-shaped design. Our team worked closely with the client to ensure that the solution was both functional and aesthetically pleasing, meeting all technical requirements for durability and safety.
Client Requirements
· Sector-Shaped Steel Grating: The platforms needed to be designed to wrap around round storage tanks and equipment, requiring grating in sector-shaped panels to follow the curvature of the tanks.
· Arc-Shaped Stair Treads: As the platforms had to rise progressively around the tanks, the stair treads also needed to follow an arc-shaped path, ensuring a smooth and safe transition between platform levels.
· Durability and Corrosion Resistance: As the platforms were to be used outdoors, they needed to be resistant to harsh environmental conditions, including moisture, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to chemicals.
· Aesthetic Integration: The design had to seamlessly blend into the environment while providing practical functionality and safety features.
Our Solution
We provided a customized steel grating solution that met the client’s specific needs:
· Tailored Sector-Shaped Grating: Our design team meticulously calculated the dimensions of the sector-shaped steel grating panels, ensuring they fit perfectly around the circular tanks. This solution allowed for easy installation and optimal functionality.
· Arc-Shaped Stair Treads: To match the circular shape of the tanks, we designed arc-shaped stair treads that gradually ascended as they encircled the tanks. This design ensured safe access to various levels of the platform while maintaining a smooth, ergonomic structure.
· High-Strength and Corrosion-Resistant Materials: We selected carbon steel for its strength and durability and applied a hot-dip galvanizing process to provide excellent corrosion resistance. This ensured the platforms and stair treads could withstand the outdoor environment and any chemical exposure from the tanks.
· Aesthetic and Functional Design: The custom design was crafted to integrate seamlessly with the circular structure of the tanks, providing an aesthetically pleasing solution that also ensured safety and ease of maintenance access.
